This healing form of dance concentrates on personal experience rather than on performance. Participants are guided by music to ‘tune in’ to the 7 Chakras - potent energy centres that lie between the base of the spine and the crown of the head – which in Eastern tradition are believed to be the gateways between mind body and spirit. Each Chakra is related to a different aspect of our life, resonates to a different sound and holds a specific colour. By moving through the Chakras with the aid of music participants will feel different sensations, feelings and emotions at each Chakra and can express these in dance, thus the movement is guided from the inside out. Everybody is different so in a Chakradance™ session everyone dances differently as well!
