In applying trained methods of touch, massage facilitates relaxation & reduces stress, aids circulation, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and brings the body into physical and emotional balance. Massage is the deliberate application of touch that restores the physical balance of the body’s soft tissue through friction, kneading, percussion and the application of finger point pressure. Hot Stone Massage employs basalt stones that are heated (or cooled), then placed along the body of the massage recipient temperature treating strategic points.
